The MOOC “Oral Health Care for Autistic Children” delivered by Dr Gloria Wong is currently under production

Global Dental Campus (GDC) - Online has been initiating, planning, and producing high quality Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on edX platform with the objective to offer continuing dental and professional education to practising dentists and specialists. Dr James Tsoi, Director of GDC- Online described MOOC as “not a classroom, but a community, a global village where many pathways are possible.” The platform gathered people who share one common goal: serving patients with the best treatment and professional healthcare possible.” The courses will be accessible not only from home but also from everywhere, breaking the walls between learners and the content through this learner-centred and technology-enriched approach.

Paediatric Dentistry MOOC on ASD is Under Production

Paediatric Dentistry MOOC “Oral Health Care for Autistic Children” taught by Dr Gloria Wong, Clinical Associate Professor in Paediatric Dentistry and Dr Phoebe Lam, Honorary Dental Officer in Paediatric Dentistry is currently under production. The course aims to educate general dental practitioners on common dental problems encountered in treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and the development of a minimal intervention treatment plan to prevent and reduce the severity of oral diseases. It is targeted to be launched in the third quarter of 2021. Stay tuned for more updates.

Implant Dentistry MOOC Attracted over 5,000 Participants

A comprehensive Implant Dentistry MOOC was concluded successfully on the 30th March 2021 attracting 5,032 participants. The course covered a wide spectrum of successful implant practices and aimed to help learners set the foundations for an effective and successful practice in implant dentistry. Guiding the learners were 20 dental implant experts and practitioners from HKU Faculty of Dentistry and other institutions from 10 countries across the globe. The participants enjoyed an eye-opening implant dentistry journey.
