PhD student shines at HKU 3MT® Competition

What do most non-dental students or practitioners think about the study of dentistry? “Most of them may think dentistry is a boring and bloody subject,” described Dr Andy Yeung, Tutor in Radiography of Applied Oral Sciences & Community Dental Care.

Ms Meng Jiang, PhD student in Dental Public Health won the second runner up among nine finalists at the HKU The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition on 23 June 2020 at Wang Gungwu Theatre, Graduate House, HKU.

Children oral care service at local kindergartens

Dean, Professor Thomas Flemmig, had announced several new appointments with effect from 1 July 2020.

The Faculty has been committing to safeguard children’s oral care with free dental outreach service to pre-schoolers at kindergartens.

Oral Health Webinar to NEC

Media Highlights

Initiated by Dr Prasanna Neelakantan, Clinical Assistant Professor in Endodontics, the project “Gateway to Dental Health” was launched in 2017. Since then, the Faculty has been working hand-in-hand to empower NGO partners and provide free dental outreach services to Non-Ethnic Chinese (NEC) with the objective to improve their oral health condition.

The Faculty is committed to sharing oral health care information to the public, and one of the channels is to disseminate such knowledge via media.
