To celebrate China's National Love Teeth Day, the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong organised the Oral Health Exhibition for the general public as well as the Workshop on Tobacco Cessation Counselling for dental students on 20 September 2017 in the premises of the Prince Philip Dental Hospital.

The opening of the Exhibition was officiated by Prof Thomas Flemmig, Dean of the Faculty, together with Prof Chu Chun Hung, Associate Dean (External Relations) and Prof Edward Lo Chin Man, Chair Professor of Dental Public Health. It attracted more than 200 visitors that included dental patients, elderly and parents bringing with their children who concerned about their dental health and hygiene.

The evening Workshop included a seminar to present research findings on “Dental students’ awareness, preparedness and barriers towards managing tobacco-using patients”. It introduced tobacco-cessation counselling, shared knowledge on epidemiology, and correct use of pharmacotherapy. It also provided suggestions to improve anti-tobacco trainings in HKU.
